Britney Spears‘ fans may enjoy her choreographed routines on Instagram – but Dance Moms star Abby Lee Miller had some choice words for the pop superstar, who she claims needs to quite literally ‘pull her pants up’ if she has any hope of impressing with her moves.

Known primarily for her blunt – and sometimes hurtful – criticism, Abby Lee, 58, didn’t hold back as she claimed Britney, 42, has gone from being a ‘great, confident’ dancer to making her ‘cringe.’

‘I cringe and I yell at her and then the whole world hates me, and then the world of Britney comes after me like I’m psycho. How dare I,’ Abby, 58, confessed in an exclusive sit-down interview with DailyMail.com, just days after she doubled down on her harsh criticism of Taylor Swift’s dancing.

‘I just want her to pull her pants up. The lower your pants are, the longer your body looks and the shorter your legs look.

‘No torso. You want to be a head and neck and legs. So, she keeps pushing her pants down, making her body longer and her leg shorter. And I’m like, “pull your pants up and make your legs look longer.”‘

But Abby Lee – who starred in Lifetime’s hit reality series Dance Moms from 2011 until 2017 – said Britney’s moves were not always ‘cringe.’

‘I would say she performed like J-Lo. She was doing the knee slides and doing real athletic, real dancing,’ she continued.

‘Toxic. I mean, any of those songs, even in her video […Baby One More Time] the iconic schoolgirl outfit, coming down the hallway with the lockers. She was dancing and she could dance.  She was great. She was just great.

‘Britney was adorable, great, confident and well taught.’

The famed choreographer, who is also responsible for launching the careers of JoJo Siwa and Maddie Ziegler, attributed Britney’s questionable dance moves to her lack of recent training.

‘She was away from her dance teacher too long, that’s number one. And number two is dance is a constantly evolving artform, so you have to continually stay with the trends,’ she said.

‘In fact, Britney’s first dancer teacher, Darni Fenerty, is a friend of mine. When Britney went to Star Search, her parents did not take her.’

‘Darni took her just like I was taking kids to all these things,’ she added, claiming the singer’s mother Lynne Spears, 68, sent Britney to Star Search with ‘one dress and one little pair of shoes.’

‘And Britney won. After winning she had to shoot another episode right then. And she won. And she had to shoot another episode after that. So, my friend Darni went to Dillard’s department store and bought her all these dresses and all these shoes to wear on Star Search.

‘Britney didn’t have a lot of money when she was a young kid. They would go to rehearsal and if she had a dance class on Saturday and then rehearsal on Sunday, they didn’t drive two hours back to their hometown and back again.

‘They slept outside in the car in front of the studio. I know that for a fact, really.’

Abby’s comments come days after she took aim at Taylor’s dance abilities, claiming the ‘pigeon-toed’ superstar isn’t as good as her boyfriend Travis Kelce, who she dubbed a ‘natural.’

Abby, who was diagnosed with went on to star in a series of spinoffs including Dance Moms: Abby’s Studio Rescue and Dance Moms: Miami.

In September, Abby launched her latest reality show, Mad House, which features professional dancers competing for the chance to learn and live in Abby’s Mad House, in order to advance their careers.

She also revealed that she was recently in New York City filming an episode for the return of Dance Moms, which will be rebranded under a different name.

‘I came here to teach dance’: Abby Lee Miller chats cancer

‘I am filming season nine,’ she said. ‘The show that I am shooting is the original concept that I went in. It’s not called Dance Moms, so some of the people are involved in it – hair, makeup, prop design, stuff like that. They’re involved.

‘It gives a lot of kids a chance to be on TV and a lot of kids to be involved. There’s so much talent out there in the world. The kids dancing today are incredible.’

In January Abby sold her Pittsburgh dance studio, made famous on Dance Moms, in an off-market deal for $300,000.

‘Before there were tons of children with dreams… there was this 22yr old with a dream to build my own State of the Art Facility with the best sprung floors money could buy,’ she wrote at the time on Instagram.

In 2017, Abby was indicted on 20 counts of fraud and was sentenced to one year and one day in federal prison.

She was also ordered to pay fines of $40,000 and $120,000.
