Britney Spears allegedly wants her reconciliation with her mother Lynne to happen at its own natural pace, rather than being pushed along.

When Britney first embarked on her career as a child star in the 1990s, it was Lynne who traveled with her and looked after her.

The pair have had a publicly fraught relationship in recent years, poisoned by Lynne’s alleged role in Britney’s controversial conservatorship.

However tensions have cooled between the pair, to the point that Lynn attended Britney’s 42nd birthday party earlier this month.

An Us Weekly source has now said: ‘Britney is open to repairing her relationship with Lynne but she wants things to unfold organically and not force anything.’

‘It’s wonderful’: Lynne Spears on reuniting with Britney

The insider insisted Britney is currently ‘in a really good place’ and maintained she ‘would love to continue maintaining her relationship with her mom.’

However the Princess Of Pop apparently also hopes ‘to take her time’ with the healing process and ‘doesn’t feel like there’s a need to rush anything.’

The source added: ‘Britney understands that her mom would have loved for her to visit for Christmas but she just felt like it was too soon.’

This year, Britney has just released a bestselling memoir called The Woman In Me, launching barbs at such targets as her parents, her ex Justin Timberlake and her sister Jamie Lynn, whom she accused of having been a ‘total b****’ at the age of 11.

Within the pages of The Woman In Me, Britney accused her parents Jamie and Lynne of having thrown out her childhood dolls and journals.

She described her Madame Alexander dolls as having been particularly important to her, as one of the few luxuries in her financially strapped childhood.

Britney said her parents got rid of her ‘prized possessions,’ like the dolls and diaries , back in 2019 when she had just been treated for her mental health and was still in the grip of Jamie’s controversial conservatorship.

After being unleashed from the conservatorship in 2021, Britney furiously accused her mother of having come up with the idea of the arrangement.

Although their relations appear to have cooled since then, Britney still took aim at Lynne in the memoir, saying Lynne was party to disposing of the dolls.

‘I’m not sure who told you I got rid of your dolls and journals but I would never do that!’ Lynne retorted on her Instagram page Thursday.

‘That would be cruel because I know how much they mean to you. They are special to me too because of the years we spent collecting them. Of course I still have your things, and I am happy to send them to you if you’d like me to. Please let me know and know how much I love you!’

Shortly thereafter, in a postscript to an Instagram post about Taylor Swift, Britney issued an eye-catching reply to her mother’s entreaty.

‘Ps mom I love you so so much, but there were 3 dolls in the cabinets when I went home 2 years ago … kinda really weird you would take them out and then put them back in … so messed up,’ wrote Britney. ‘Nope, I don’t want them. Keep it all. I honestly don’t care anymore … honestly though.’

Meanwhile, it emerged this month that Jamie  had to have a leg amputated after contracting an infection and was ‘not doing well,’ in the words of a TMZ source.

There have been conflicting claims about whether there is any glimmer of hope that Britney and Jamie could reach a rapprochement at his sickbed.

DailyMail.com exclusively reported in October that Jamie recently gone to rehab again for his longtime battle with alcoholism.

However, he was reputedly having trouble keeping himself from drinking and was, at that point, living with Jamie Lynn at her home in Louisiana.
