Britney Spears reportedly wants the sale of her Calabasas, California mansion to be as private as possible.

On Monday TMZ claimed that the Toxic singer is showing the expansive home, which she purchased only six months ago and reportedly didn’t care for much, ‘off market,’ which means there will be no open houses to the public who want to be looky-loos.

The star is currently looking at applications and may be able to close as soon as next month, it was added, and getting near her $12M asking price.

The reason Britney was not happy with the large home is because she felt it did not offer enough privacy.

Before Calabasas, she lived in a large mansion in nearby Thousand Oaks, California, which she still owns and could possibly move back to.

The whole point of moving to Calabasas – a celeb packed enclave that includes Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker – was to be closer to ex Kevin Federline with whom she has two children: Sean Preston and Jayden James.

Earlier this month it was claimed she had listed the home for $12M just over six months after purchasing it.

It is a 11,650 sq. foot abode with six bedrooms with a swimming pool and hot tub, a wine cellar and a movie theater she bought for $11.8M in June soon after marrying Sam Asghari.

TMZ claimed she never fell in love with the property which used to be owned by Justin and Hailey Bieber and is located in the Estate At The Oaks neighborhood.

She bough the Thousand Oaks mansion in 2015 for $7.5million and can always return to it.

DailyMail.com has contacted representatives of Britney for comment.

In July, Britney told how her latest abode was ‘still in renovation’ and referred to her Thousand Oaks estate as her ‘old home’.

The home is right down the street from her ex-husband, Kevin Federline, and their two boys Sean, 17, and Jayden, 16.

Her new neighbors include fellow newlyweds: Travis Barker and Kourtney Kardashian Barker.

Shortly after she bought the home, People magazine reported: ‘Britney loves her new house. She picked it out with Sam.

The singer’s nearly-14-year-long conservatorship under the control of her father Jamie Spears was finally terminated in November 2021.

After the cameraperson asked him about rumors that he was controlling Britney, he responded with a relaxed denial.

‘I don’t even control what we have for dinner,’ he said with a smile as he walked around to the driver’s side of his car.

He added a surprisingly measured answer after he was asked why Britney’s fans seem to gravitate toward so many conspiracy theories.

‘You know, man, in the past there has been a lot of stuff going on, so I understand where they’re coming from,’ he said, seemingly referring to his wife’s years of being unable to make major life decisions under her now-defunct conservatorship.

‘If anything, they’re just being good fans,’ he added before driving away.
