The British security consultant, 50, dated Britney Spears in the months leading up to her being placed in a mental health conservatorship under her father Jamie in 2008.

In the book, Britney explains that although he had previously worked as a paparazzi, she liked Adnan because he was “chivalrous and helped me out when the others got too aggressive.”

Although she never refers to him by name, calling him “the photographer” instead, she claims she was unaware that he was already taken when they were dating.

She writes: “I didn’t know then that the photographer was married; I had no clue that I was essentially his mistress. I only found that out after we’d broken up.”

Despite the accusation, Britney adds that she remembers her time with Adnan as “a lot of fun” and “incredibly hot.”

Setting the record straight, Adnan – who is originally from Birmingham, England, but lives in California, said: “My wife and I were not divorced, but we had been separated for three years.

“I didn’t live with her for that time, I was 100 percent single.

“After we were kept apart, people in Britney’s life during the conservatorship wanted to make out that I’d lied and cheated on her, which I didn’t.

“It was easy to paint me as a villain.”

‘MAGIC MOMENT’

Adnan reminisced about how the spark between him and Britney began when he helped her cross a busy road while working as a pap.

He says that one night she was dropped off by the side of the famous Pacific Coast Highway near her home in Malibu.

Adnan explained: “I could see she was not going to make it across the road.

“I was a photographer at the time, but that was not important.

“I helped her across the street, but two photographers ran back over, and they wanted to fight me, because they thought I’d ruined their shots.

“She overheard the conversation and me shouting at them ‘You protect humans from doing things that are not good.’

“Later she asked, ‘Why did you do that? Those guys were going to beat you up.’

“I replied ‘There’s certain things that make us who we are, and I’m not going to allow anything to happen to you for the sake of me getting a picture. It’s not that important.’”

Days later Britney asked Adnan to stop photographers from chasing her from her Malibu home to the Loews Hotel in Santa Monica.

He said: “I told everybody, ‘Look, she’s going to the hotel and I’m going to escort her and you can have any pictures.’

“I walked her inside and she kissed me on the cheek. It was a magic moment.”

CHERISHED MEMORIES

Among Adnan’s most cherished memories of his time with the star is one time he got to witness her musical genius firsthand.

He explained: “We were sat at a coffee shop, just having a mundane conversation, as she had an aha moment.

“She started writing down these ideas about music and a show.

“Her words flowed into these perfect lyrics, seeing it her head and writing it all down on a napkin.

“Then she moved to the choreography mapping out the moves. She asked me ‘Is it chest then arms?’

“I was like ‘You are asking the wrong guy.’

“It was how simple and easy it was for her to picture music in her head and then translate it through lyrics and dance on paper.

“It was a blessing to be a witness to that. Britney has a gift.”

Britney’s memoir reveals how her relationship with Adnan was brought to an abrupt end at the start of the conservatorship, which lasted until November 2021.

On Sunday, Adnan said he was left looking “down into the abyss” when Britney almost drove them off a cliff in her car.

The near-death experience was not the only time he feared for Britney’s life.

He explained that there were serious concerns that she would died of an overdose of her “drug of choice”, the legal amphetamine Adderall.

Previously he revealed that at one point they thought she was pregnant with his baby and that she longed to have a girl to add to her two sons with ex-husband Kevin Federline.

He also told how Britney was left “mesmerized” when the love of her life Justin Timberlake came up on a TV screen.

The memoir explosively reveals that Britney had an abortion with Justin in 2000 when the pair were 19.

The U.S. Sun exclusively revealed that Britney admits in the book for the first time ever following years of rumors that she cheated on Justin with choreographer Wade Robson.

And Adan told how Britney sat calmly eating soup before 10 sheriff deputies took her off for a psych evaluation ahead of her conservatorship.
