Doja Cat, the American rapper, has attracted the attention of the internet with an out-of-the-box makeup look. Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini decided to shave her head in August 2022 during her Instagram live. She then went on to unveil her clean-shaven head on the social media platform. The rapper also cut off her eyebrows live on camera in front of more than 20,000 Instagram users.

Since then, Doja Cat has been trolled by fans for her look. They compared her look with Britney Spears’s meltdown of shaving her head publicly in 2007. The Need To Know singer has been offended by the comparison. Spears had a turbulent time while opting for the brave decision. On the other hand, the 27-year-old had other reasons to shave her head and eyebrows. The Say So singer recently stood up for Spears.
Doja Cat stands up for Britney Spears over shaving her head
In August last year, Doja Cat buzzed off her hair and eyebrows. From that time, she became the center of trolls. Fans compared her look to Britney Spears shaving her head during a highly-publicized breakdown in 2007.
The American rapper was quick to put brakes on the trolls. During an interview with Variety, she said,
“It’s so incredibly disrespectful for people to be minimizing what Britney went through and make a joke out of something that was very serious and a big deal in her life.”
The 27-year-old added, “Every time I see a comment like that, I can’t compute what’s happening, other than it’s just an awful thing.”
The Kiss Me More singer took to Instagram to shut down her followers and shared the reason for shaving her head.
She said,
“When I shaved my eyebrows off, and I shaved my head, I remember thinking, ‘Get this s— off of me,’ because I needed to change something.”
The You Right singer explained she shaved her head as she seldom ever displayed her natural hair in her work. The rapper acknowledged the fact that she has spent the majority of her career donning wigs.
Fans praised Doja Cat for speaking out for Britney Spears

In a rare moment, the American rapper took a stand for the Toxic singer as fans compared their look. They trolled Like That singer, but she shut them up for making a joke about Spears’s mental issue.
This move impressed the fans, who took to Twitter to praise the Get into It singer.
One person tweeted, “SPEAK ON IT! Britney deserves respect as a woman artist and above all a HUMAN!”
While others pinned, “She’s right. People speak too playfully about what Britney went through.”

The incident led the Toxic singer to land into a thirteen-year conservatorship that restricted almost all of her financial, physical, and reproductive autonomy. She got freedom in November 2021 after the conservatorship ended.
