That is what Patrick Mahomes, the star quarterback of the NFL is dreaming of. He has a long-standing dream of owning his own football team after taking off his boots. He wants to be connected with the NFL world even after his retirement and that is why he wants to buy an NFL team.

People who follow Mahomes closely are aware of his investment habits. He usually invests a lot in sports teams. He and his teammate Travis Kelce were earlier a part of a group that invested $211 million in the Alpine Formula One team. Hence, it can be said that Mahomes is well aware of the alleys of the investment world and he can become successful as well if he steps into the world of NFL investments.

“If I can get there, then I might settle down,” Mahomes said in the press conference. “But they make it pretty tough to get to that spot,” he said. According to Mahomes, he is not alone in trying his luck in the NFL world. He has a guide who is presently trying to be the owner of an NFL team. That guide is none other than the NFL legend Tom Brady. Mahomes, in his media note, spoke about Brady.

“I think Tom [Brady is] trying to do that right now,” Mahomes indicated towards Brady’s intention of joining the Raiders ownership group. “But that’s definitely where you want to get to because I love this sport and want to give back in any way possible when I’m done playing. Obviously, I’ll be a Chiefs fan. But at the same time, I want to have that competitive edge like I’ve always had my entire life,” he further added.

Mahomes is presently the second highest-paid quarterback. This offseason, he signed a $210.6 million contract for three years. The QB will receive this amount between 2023 to 2026.

Having lost the opening game of the 2023-24 season, Mahomes and the Chiefs have bounced back in style, winning 5 games in a row. They will now face the Los Angeles Chargers on the 22nd of October.
