It doesn’t look like Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors have much hope this season. Things have not been the same in the locker room based on various issues that have conspired. But right now, they are working with a terrible slump which has them amongst the worst teams in the Western Conference. They rank 11th in the conference with a record of 17 wins and 19 losses. This a path that teams with a star-studded lineup do not find desirable to be on.

Recently, they played against the Toronto Raptors, a game that should have been relatively easy to win. Unfortunately, they were getting dominated through the entire matchup. The worst part of the game was Curry’s performance, as he finished with 9 points, 1 rebound, and 6 assists. In all fairness, the 4x NBA Champion has been their most consistent player this season. However, this game was quite a shocker for fans.

Amidst the chaos, the Warriors were given approval to bring back Draymond Green into the lineup. While he did not appear on the court against the Raptors, the Warriors are expecting him to come back in a week. Additionally, Steve Kerr’s coaching has been a major point of concern. Fans and experts have been bashing the veteran coach’s strategies as he has been underutilizing players like Jonathan Kuminga.

Stephen Curry gives props to Klay Thompson for carrying the Warriors against the Raptors

The good news is that Stephen Curry has been mature enough to realize that his team has been struggling. He took the fall for their recent loss against the Raptors after failing to lead the team offensively despite playing the most minutes. During the post-game press conference, he said, “The concern level grows the nights like tonight that you have, you know tough losses. Obviously, I’ve got to play better and be more efficient. Find a way to get going early and give us some life.”

Curry added, “My nature when things get hard is to look at what you can do better. So, I’m gonna stay there and respond in the way I know how to do. The way Klay [Thompson] has been playing, he gave us everything he had tonight. And I didn’t even give us a chance in that third quarter.”

Stephen Curry humbly admitted that the Warriors, especially him could’ve done far better against the Raptors. He gave props to Klay Thompson for assuming the scorer’s role during his slump. However, he believes that the Warriors have to come back with a different mentality against their upcoming opponents. They will be hosting the New Orleans Pelicans on Wednesday at the Chase Center.
