Ja Morant has been a completely menace on the court for all the right reasons. He hails from one of the best draft classes of the decade, and he hasn’t failed to prove himself on the court on a nightly basis. Things revolving around the NBA star have been quite controversial. But lately, it has been his biggest motivation to come back on top of the league. Fans can confidently assume that Morant will potentially become the face of the league at some point.

Within four and a half seasons of his journey in the NBA, Morant has already achieved a lot of accolades. He is already a 2x All-Star with the honors of being called 2022 Most Improved Player of the Year. He was selected into the All-NBA Second Team in 2022. Besides this, he was named the 2020 Rookie of the Year and made it to the All-NBA Rookie First Team as well. Morant was extremely impactful during his college days as well, which is why Murray State decided to retire his jersey number.
However, behind every young athlete making it into the big leagues, there are always supportive parents. Ja Morant’s parent are his biggest supporters and will be until the end of his career. He was born to Tee and Jamie Morant. Both his parents were athletes back in the day, which is where he gets his talent from. Tee Morant also happened to basketball for Claflin University. Jamie played basketball and softball in high school.

Tee Morant continues to support Ja Morant’s budding NBA career

Tee Morant has stood beside Ja Morant ever since he decided to choose sports as his career path. Even during his professional career, Tee is always present at Memphis Grizzlies home games supporting his son from the sidelines. Ja has been through a couple of rough patches, having to deal with various assault allegations and gun controversies. Tee stood through it all trying to maintain the image of his son.

Ja Morant once had an emotional message to share with the world regarding his father. According to Sporting News, he said, “I don’t want to get too emotional up here but I just want to thank him for everything he’s done for me. He made me who I am today and I’m just thankful for it all.”

Tee Morant also had a successful run while playing basketball in college. He played alongside an NBA Hall of Fame, Ray Allen. While the latter went on to become the leader in the NBA in three-pointers made (now former leader), Tee answered his call for fatherly responsibilities. He gave up on his dream to pursue a basketball career when he found out Jaime was pregnant. However, Ja Morant is currently helping fulfill his father’s dream.
