Alejandro Garnacho linked with craziest move of the summer transfer window

Garnacho’s current Man Utd contract expires in June 2028.

Manchester United star Alejandro Garnacho has been linked with making the biggest move of the summer transfer window.

The United winger is one of the club’s brightest prospects, and one of their most impressive performers last season despite an inconsistent campaign for the team overall.

The 19-year-old scored seven goals in the Premier League – including a stunning bicycle kick against Everton in December – and scored United’s opener in their 2-1 FA Cup final win over Manchester City.

Garnacho, who has four years left on his current deal that he signed last year, is currently representing Argentina at the Copa America.

However, he has had to settle for a role on the bench thus far, and hasn’t played in either of Argentina’s group games in the United States.

Now, he has been linked with a huge transfer.

According to Alkass Sports, the Saudi Pro League are interested in signing the 19-year-old amid its aim to bring in younger players to play in the division next season.

It is claimed that Garnacho would be offered a deal to play for Al Hilal, who already have Neymar, Ruben Neves, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Kalidou Koulibaly on their books.

However, United have already named Garnacho as one of four players that are ‘not for sale under any circumstances’ during the summer transfer window, as per the Manchester Evening News.

But were the Argentinian to end up leaving to move to Saudi Arabia, the deal would be one of the biggest in the league’s history – particularly given Garnacho’s age and potential.

The emergence of Saudi Arabian interest in the winger provoked a reaction of surprise from Garnacho’s brother, Roberto, who tweeted: “Tf is this?”

It remains to be seen whether the United star would have a similar reaction if he is presented with a genuine offer from the Saudi Pro League.
