One such instance involved Lea Thompson in the 1983 sports drama All The Right Moves. Thompson shared about how Cruise stepped in to save her from uncomfortable scenes when producers wanted her to do two topless scenes.

Lea Thompson, who played Cruise’s girlfriend in All The Right Moves, revealed that the original script called for her to expose her chest in two separate scenes. Thompson, uncomfortable with the idea, initially chose not to audition for the role. However, she eventually accepted the part and found herself in a dilemma. It was at this point that Tom Cruise, demonstrating his incredible integrity, intervened and convinced the producers to eliminate the Back to the Future star’s topless scenes. 

“This is a funny story about how generous he was. They wanted me to show my breasts twice in the script. I didn’t even audition because I didn’t want to take my shirt off, but I got the part and was like, ‘OK.’ Tom managed to talk them out of one of the [nude] scenes, and in the second, he said, ‘Well, if she has to be naked, I’ll be naked, too.’ That’s pretty badass! I’ve always been grateful to him for standing up to the producers.”

Tom Cruise Refused To Kick Pom Klementieff

The Jerry Maguire star’s dedication to the well-being of his co-stars prevented him from kicking Pom Klementieff on-screen. During the filming of an action scene with the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 star in the latest Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, Cruise demonstrated his concern for the safety of his co-star. Klementieff shared that she suggested that Cruise should kick her in the midsection to make the scene more authentic. Despite the insistence by Klementieff, the Top Gun: Maverick star refused to kick her, prioritizing her well-being.
“I kept telling him to just kick me here. [indicating her midsection] I was squeezing abs. [I said], ‘You can just go for it.’ He was like ‘No, no, no, no, no.’ I was like, ‘But it’s going to help me!’ But he wouldn’t do it.”
