Even though Dwayne Johnson mostly does action movies, he has also done numerous comedy movies, and much to the surprise of the fans, he has great comedic timing. But, the comedy genre is being immensely affected by the growing influence of the cancel culture. And, Marlon Wayans slams the cancel culture for killing the creativity of comedians for using satire to talk about societal issues.

Marlon Wayans Slams Cancel Culture

The Cancel Culture has created a negative impact on the comedy genre, as comedians can not use unfiltered comedy, that would result in laughs and get the audience to thinking about the issue. Comedians were unhappy with this but they dared not to talk much about this culture.

However, Marlon Wayans decided to give a sarcastic comment that referenced the Jason Aldean song, Try That In a Small Town. And his comments were not taken well as he faced backlash online. The Little Man actor was present on Jalen Rose: Renaissance Man podcast, where he urges people to “stop being so damn sensitive,” as it will only lead to fear and hate.
“I think social media messed up socializing and we’ve got to get back to laughing and finding reasons to laugh and stop being so damn sensitive. All we’re doing is filling our airwaves, filling our kids with fear and hate — there’s no laughter and love. The only thing that’s going to bring us together is humor.”

Wayans has been a vocal critic of cancel culture and vowed to never self-censor over fears of being “canceled.” As many liberal people tend to criticise the actor for his comments on the song claiming that it was racist. However, he cleared out that he felt the song was “divisive,” and promoted the “kind of mentality that fuels…racism, bigotry and some violence.” Clearly, he is not a supporter of the cancel culture.
