Bringing the iconic story of Snow White to life, Chris Hemsworth and Kristen Stewart starred in the 2012 film, Snow White and the Huntsman. In the film, Chris Hemsworth, who was sent to capture Snow White, ends up becoming her partner on a mission to overthrow the evil sorceress aka Snow White’s stepmother Queen Ramona.

The darker version of the childhood fairy tale was met with mixed to average reviews and even the actors’ performances were being questioned by the critics. Chris Hemsworth, too, has a regret about the film but it’s not what you think it is. His regret stems from the fact that his co-star punched him in the face for real, rather than staging it. Again, it’s not what you think it is.

Why Was Chris Hemsworth Upset about the Punch?

In Snow White and the Huntsman, there is a scene where Kristen Stewart had to punch Chris Hemsworth right in his face. Of course, the punch was supposed to be staged, like in every other film. I mean, we wouldn’t want anything to happen to that face now, would we? However, Stewart ended up punching Hemsworth in the face, for real.

Thanks to this, Hemsworth grew a bit upset. Why? Well, because it would have made a perfect shot if Stewart did not immediately apologize after.

Talking to GQ, the Thor actor stated,

“Oh, yeah, I was more upset she didn’t continue on through the take. She kind of hit me and went ‘Oh my God, I’m so sorry.’ I was like, ‘That would have been the perfect, most truthful take we had.’ I think she was more upset than I was.”

So, Hemsworth did not really mind Stewart hitting him in the face. What disappointed him was losing out on a perfect take. If that does not scream professionalism, I don’t know what does!

Chris Hemsworth and Kristen Stewart Grew Close on Set

Snow White and the Huntsman was Stewart’s next role after wrapping up the Twilight franchise. On the premiere of Breaking Dawn – Part I in Los Angeles, the actress opened up about what it’s like working on the film with Hemsworth and director Rupert Sanders. According to Stewart, she had an “indulgent experience” on set and she even grew close to her co-star.
“I’ve had the most indulgent experience on Snow White and the Huntsman. We had a lot of pre-production and I really got close with the director and Chris and everything, so I’m having a great time. Obviously, everyone thinks it’s a kind of rush to do it. [But] it was good timing. I had a little bit of time off in between [filming Breaking Dawn and Snow White and the Huntsman. It was good.”
The film went on to make $401 million at the box office. And even though it received a disappointing score of 49% on Rotten Tomatoes, the film got a prequel/sequel titled, The Huntsman: Winter’s War. Hemsworth, Charlize Theron, Sam Claflin, and Nick Frost reprised their respective roles in the film, however, Stewart was only in it through archive footage.

Snow White and the Huntsman is available to stream on Netflix.
