Surely many people may have heard the saying, which states that an actor or actress should be like water, no matter which container they are placed in, they should mold themselves in its shape. And while many may adhere to this saying to boot, stars like Jim Caviezel are some exceptions who are closely attached to their beliefs and ideologies.

Not only will he negotiate on requests that go against his moral compass, but he might also straight up refuse to do something entirely during a shoot. One of the best examples of this is the time when he was in a film with Jennifer Lopez which required them to be naked, and he just refused to do so for the scene.

While he may have made himself famous, or more aptly, infamous for playing the role of Jesus Christ in Mel Gibson‘s controversial blockbuster The Passion Of The Christ, Jim Caviezel himself is also a devout believer of Catholicism and constantly practices the teachings and moral ethics of his faith, no matter the situation and challenge. Therefore, there are some things that he doesn’t like doing in his profession which go against his beliefs, one of them being getting naked on screen, especially with another woman.

 

During a past interview, The Count Of Monte Cristo star was talking about his film Angel Eyes which had Platinum Record holder Jennifer Lopez as his leading co-star and love interest along with Iron Man star Terrence Howard. In the film, there was supposed to be a scene where both Caviezel’s and Lopez’s characters were supposed to be naked in an intimate scene. Being a firm believer in the teachings of God, the star refused to strip down to his birthday suit and also requested that his co-star would be told to do the same. He said:
“I just said, ‘Look, put a top on her. I’m gonna keep my shorts on, she’s gonna keep hers on. Get the camera and shoot around it.’ And that’s out of devotion, love, and respect for my wife.”
Therefore, staying true to his teachings while also maintaining the dignity of his female lead, he has proved how hard it is to stand strong for your morals.
