He ended up abandoning it at a Burger King after running out of gas.

Can you figure out what Dwayne Johnson is up to? Those who listened to the latest episode of The Joe Rogan Experience might have been able to, as the podcast host had a meeting with one of the world’s most famous movie stars.

As fans of professional wrestling and entertainment, we all know The Rock to be an unstoppable force. His rise to prominence is truly amazing, having come from modest beginnings to becoming one of Hollywood’s highest-paid actors. But you may be surprised to know that he once had to give up his first car, which he had bought for just $80 from a drunken man in a bar.

Johnson and Joe Rogan recently had a three-hour conversation during another extended episode of the podcast. The wrestler-turned-actor and the host discussed a wide range of topics, including his political views and early life goals. What might have intrigued car enthusiasts, though, was Johnson’s story about his first car, which he owned for only a few hours.

Dwayne Johnson Recalled an Unexpected Journey with His First Car

Imagine a teenage  Dwayne Johnson who was full of ambition and youthful, accidentally finding his first car in a bar. But he had no idea that his rapid decision would set off a chain reaction of events. At 15, he was hanging out in a Nashville honky-tonk on Lower Broadway because, at the time, he was dreaming of becoming a country music singer, he said during the Joe Rogan Experience interview.
“It was downtown Nashville… I had no business being in a bar on Lower Broadway, because I had this fantasy in my head that I was gonna be a country music singer.”

So he went to these “honky tonks” and was there with his friend Downtown Bruno when a drunk man entered and said
“Hey, who wants to buy a car?”
The actor stated that, because they had just been evicted from Hawaii, he did not have a car or money at the time. Consequently, despite lacking any money, Johnson chose to purchase the car. He queried the drunk guy:
“How much?”
He remarked
“$75, 80 bucks” and I said ‘Cool’.”
He curiously asked Bruno:
“How much money you got?”
He was told by his friend, “I only got $40.”

“Give me $40,” The Rock urged him. The actor, 51, further added:
“So I give it to the drunk, who’s probably high too as well, and I said ‘Here, I’ll come back and give you the other $40.”
As he recalled, it was a cool car, saying:
“77 Thunderbird. Blue… It was a hunk of sh*t.”
So he handed the man “$40 bucks”  and said:
“Hey, I’ll come back and give you the rest tonight.”
The retired professional wrestler then got into the car and began to drive down the road while his friend followed him in his vehicle. Ah, but the night was not over yet.

He Ditched His First Car At A ‘F*Cking Burger King’

With such ease and excitement, Dwayne Johnson cruised down I-65 in Nashville in his first car. His ears suddenly picked up a lot of noise and some rustling. In fact, he noticed another “f*cking drunk on the floor”. He told Joe Rogan:
“I’m driving down the road, on I-65 down in Nashville, and I hear a lot of noise, some rustling. You know on those big bodies they have the backseat and the floor is really wide? There was another f*cking drunk on the floor… I was like ‘What the f*ck’ He’s in the car.
Next, calling that drunk “high” man a “crackhead”, he explained to him:
“Dude, I bought the car, you’ve gotta get out.”

The following day, Johnson, who was fifteen at the time, went to fill up the car with gas. But, as he recalled, there was
“No f*cking papers, the car is probably stolen. I try to put gas in it and the guy, the drunk, the crackhead, didn’t give me the gas key.. So I ditched it at a f*cking Burger King. That was my first car.”
Rogan would have presumably laughed at the story, just like the rest of us. Really, is that even real? A fifteen-year-old buys a car from a drunken guy for about $40, drives it away, finds another drunk man dozing in the backseat, and then abandons it at a Burger King when he runs out of gas. It does sound unrealistic, but since we are talking about The Rock, anything is possible.
