She wanted something new that could entice the audience’s eyes which is why she convinced the studio to reverse the usual lead roles’ traits. It meant that the leading lady would be more heroic and bold meanwhile the main male character is going to show feminine sensitivities.

She shared,
“There weren’t any obstacles for the female character. And the male character we’ve seen before.”

“I like that I’m not 25,” she shared. “And I love that there’s a man in it willing to be many aspects of himself that weren’t traditionally shown in films like this because they had to be the action hero. And Chan was so game. Let’s just do it.”
Bullock who also acts as a producer in the project shared how she needed a good partner as she runs Fortis Films.
“I just wanted a partner,” said Bullock. “I was so tired of doing everything myself. [I thought], ‘Where are the producers who are listed on the call sheet?’”
Eventually, her project turned out to be a big success which grossed over $190 million worldwide. With a star-studded cast including Daniel Radcliffe and Brad Pitt, it is streaming on Paramount+.
