Angelina Jolie is renowned for her first-class acting as well as her guts. Be it a fighting scene or an emotional scene – the undaunted actress always takes it as a challenge if the role requires it and never backs down. Even for nude scenes, the actress doesn’t hesitate to get naked.

The Maleficent actress has done numerous nude scenes before as well. However, for this one particular nude scene, the actress felt the need to call her then-husband Brad Pitt and warn him about it before shooting the scene.

Angelina Jolie Called Brad Pitt Before Filming This Nude Scene

Angelina Jolie, the actress who never backs down from any role irrespective of how difficult it may be, weirdly felt the need to call Brad Pitt along with her family to inform them before filming this nude scene in Beowulf.

This goes back to when the movie Beowulf (2007) was being shot. In the movie, there was this nude scene that was to be filmed in a rather peculiar way. Unlike other animated scenes in the movie, this one was a bit harder to shoot as in this scene Jolie wasn’t supposed to just give her voice, but instead, she was to physically act the scene out with her co-actors. For this, the actors had to wear wet suits with dots on their faces, so that their real-life movements could be tracked and then inserted into the movie as animated versions that were almost indistinguishable from the actors.

In an interview with The Morning Call, the then-32-year-old actress explained her reaction to the scene, saying,
“I thought, ‘Oh, this is going to be so weird, all of us actors with these dots on our faces, in these wetsuit-type costumes, with no props or sets. But what it really does is strip everything down to the essentials of performing, especially in the scenes between Crispin and me. They were just pure amazing emotion.”
While on one hand, Angelina Jolie felt that the scene was ‘pure amazing emotion’, on the other hand, she felt the need to warn her now ex-husband Brad Pitt and her family about it, saying she ‘underestimated’ how the actual performance of the scene would look on-screen.

“I got a little shy. There were certain moments where I actually called home, just to explain that the fun movie that I had done that was digital animation was, in fact, a little different than we expected. I was really surprised that I felt that exposed.”

Well, no doubt she felt exposed judging how the behind-the-scenes of the movie while filming were quite peculiar too.

Brad Pitt Vowed to Never Film Intimate Scenes Again

While the daunting actress never felt the need to back down even while filming nude shots, her then-husband Brad Pitt, on the other hand, vowed to never film intimate scenes again after starting a family.

While the World War Z actor has had his share of steamy scenes shot, however, after starting a family with Jolie, he decided to change his preferences for the scenes he had to shoot. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the actor explained the reason behind his unusual vow.

“I think about everything I do now, ‘My kids are going to see it when they grow up and how are they going to feel?’ But they know me as a dad. And I hope they’ll just think I’m a pretty damn good actor. I don’t want to be embarrassed when my kids get old enough to see my films. I can’t see any more nude scenes [in my career.]”

And just like that, where on the one hand, Jolie decided to warn her family before shooting a nude scene, her then-husband on the other hand decided with an unshakeable resolve not to take part in any more racy scenes because of their impact on his children.
