Nicole Kidman is still regarded as a hottie. Fans of the Aquaman star are still jealous of Tom Cruise and Keith Urban for marrying her. Over the years, the actress has maintained quite a perfect image. With no remembered scandals or foot-in-the-mouth moments, Kidman’s track record was pretty much untarnished.

That is until the 2017 Emmy Awards. On that night, she shocked everyone by kissing her Big Little Lies co-star Alexander Skarsgård on the mouth while still being married to Keith Urban. In fact, what made everyone’s jaws drop was the fact that her husband watched it all happen live.

In 2017, Nicole Kidman created a big stir when she kissed her Big Little Lies co-star Alexander Skarsgård. The actress smooched him right on the lip when he got up from his seat to accept the Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited Series award.

The PDA was probably only a congratulatory gesture, but people online were shocked that Kidman would do this, and that too in front of her husband Keith Urban, who was watching. So the Eyes Wide Shut actress had to make an appearance at The Graham Norton Show to clarify what happened during the ceremony.

The host showed her a picture of the kiss with Alexander Skarsgård and Kidman said:
“You are so provocative, Graham. Why are you showing that? I kissed my husband, too! I did kiss him, but you have to understand, I did everything with Alex-“

Norton then salaciously commented, “We saw it!” The Moulin Rouge star then continued saying:
“Alright, I’m backing off. I’ve got an amazing, supportive, gorgeous husband, who I love more than anything in the world. And I gave Alex a congratulatory kiss and he’s like a mannequin.”

Even though, Kidman explained that it was only a congratulatory kiss, fans weren’t satisfied. This is especially after they got to know how badly the actress wanted Alexander Skarsgård in Big Little Lies.

Nicole Kidman once revealed that she was deadset on casting the Swedish actor, Alexander Skarsgård, for Big Little Lies. She said, “I wanted him! I wanted him badly.” The two of them were on the same page regarding the abusive husband-wife relationship they had to portray onscreen. The Tarzan actor said:
“I spent time with Nicole working on our relationship—discussing where we wanted it to go and how to portray the marriage, in terms of making it more interesting and more confusing in a way that was fascinating for the audience. We wanted to show how s*xual their relationship is, and how that bleeds into the abusiveness.” 
As actors, they did a surreal job on-screen and that made the show even more fascinating to watch. Also, they checked in on each other after filming the abusive scenes. As such, it’s clear why their personal and off-screen bond is so strong.
