The life of a celebrity may look lavish and amusing, however, it requires a lot of struggle to reach that point. It is no secret that there is a dark side to the entertainment industry that many new actors have to face.
Actress Jennifer Lawrence is a famous name in the industry right now, however, when she was a new star, she had to go through a “humiliating” experience. She was asked to lose weight in order to meet unrealistic beauty standards. In the past, the actress has been very vocal about all these issues in the entertainment industry.

Actress Jennifer Lawrence appeared for an interview with People at Elle’s Women in Hollywood event back in 2017. In the interview, she opened up about a “humiliating” experience,
“When I was much younger and starting out, I was told by producers of a film to lose 15 pounds in two weeks. During this time a female producer had me do a nude line-up with about five women who were much, much, thinner than me. We are stood side-by-side with only tape on covering our privates.”
The actress was looking for her big break and got the opportunity to star in a project under one disgusting condition: She had to lose weight.

“After that degrading and humiliating line-up, the female producer told me I should use the naked photos of myself as inspiration for my diet.”
Jennifer Lawrence is well-known for her performance as Katniss Everdeen in the Hunger Games movie series. The actress was asked to lose 10 pounds in order to fit the description of Katniss that is described in the novel, however, she refused to lose weight.

The terrible experience didn’t end there as Lawrence tried to call out the producers for their disgusting statements. She went to a male producer to complain and in turn, he told her something even more weird,
“He said he didn’t know why everyone thought I was so fat, he thought I was ‘perfectly f**kable.’”
Lawrence made her film debut in the 2008 drama film Garden Party. In the 2010s, the actress witnessed a sharp rise in her popularity after starring in hits like Silver Linings Playbook (2012), The Hunger Games series (2012-2015), and Passengers (2016).
