United fans couldn’t believe what Sir Jim Ratcliffe said.
Manchester United fans were left stunned by the message Sir Jim Ratcliffe sent to Luke Shaw ahead of the Euro 2024 final.
On Sunday England men’s team will look to win their first major trophy since 1966 when they take on Spain in the final of Euro 2024.
Gareth Southgate’s side have underwhelmed for much of the tournament in Germany, but they produced a solid performance against the Netherlands in the semi-finals to claim a 2-1 victory.
The England boss looks set to name an unchanged starting line-up for the final, resisting calls to start Luke Shaw at left wing-back ahead of Kieran Trippier.
Shaw was named in the 26-man squad despite not playing since February due to injury.
The Man United star was unable to take part in England’s first four games, but came off the bench in both the quarter-final and semi-final to replace Trippier.
The Newcastle full-back has been struggling with an injury of his own, but looks set to keep his place against Spain.
Ahead of the final in Berlin, BBC Sport put together a montage of various celebrities sending good luck messages to Southgate and his squad.

One of the famous names included was Sir Jim Radcliffe, chairman of Man United’s minority owners INEOS.
In the video the 71-year-old says: “All the very best of luck on Sunday, and I sincerely hope that you are successful.”
At the end of the montage, an extra clip of Ratcliffe appears saying: “Luke, please don’t pull your hamstring again.”
Fans couldn’t quite believe what he said.
“This is an all timer from Sir Jim. Unreal stuff. Can’t lie… every United fan was thinking it,” one fan wrote on X.
Another fan wasn’t so happy, commenting: “Jim Ratcliffe really is embarrassing isn’t he. One job mate.”
A third fan wrote: “This nearly makes me want a Spain win.”
