Deion Sanders has admitted that his son, Shedeur Sanders, will refuse to be drafted by certain NFL teams.
Shedeur, who plays for his father as a quarterback in Colorado, won’t be eligible for the NFL Draft until 2025, but Coach Prime already knows where he isn’t going and has threatened that they will pull an Eli Manning.
The former NFL QB famously refused to play for the then-San Diego Chargers when coming out of Ole Miss. He got his wish and landed in New York with the Giants.
Such a bold stance hasn’t been taken since, yet Sanders is ready to have Shedeur bring it back. And it appears his plans are the same for his other son, Buffaloes safety Shilo Sanders.
“I know where I want, kinda want them to go … so there’s certain cities that ain’t gonna happen. It’s gonna be an ‘Eli,’ we ain’t doing that,” Prime said on the ‘Million Dollaz Worth Of Game’ podcast.
The former star cornerback, who treats CB/wide receiver Travis Hunter like a son, doesn’t want his other star playing in certain cities either.
He believes both Shedeur and Travis will be high draft picks.
“Top four,” he said. “One of them is going to be No. 1.”
Deion Sanders Has Already Crossed The Chicago Bears Off His List
While Deion Sanders did not mention teams by name, he previously noted that he didn’t want Shedeur playing in cold weather and would not want him to be drafted by the Chicago Bears.
Coach Prime doesn’t even want Caleb Williams to go there despite having no connection to the former USC Trojans star QB.
“Chicago’s cold, man. You gotta think about that kind of stuff when you’re taking a young man,” he said in a recent interview on SiriusXM Mad Dog Radio. “Like see, when you take a guy from Ohio State and you bring him to Chicago, OK, I could understand that. But from California to Chicago? Not only that, they added what? One or two more games in the NFL. Seventeen games. Come on, man. You gotta factor in that stuff. That stuff matters.”
