Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark had one of the most memorable rookie seasons the WNBA has ever seen.
Not only did the former Iowa Hawkeyes star make the All-WNBA first-team and win Rookie of the Year, but Clark also seemed to break some sort of record in each of the 42 games she played in, including the most points by a rookie.
However, what really translated the best from college to the pros was her playmaking. Clark averaged 8.4 assists in 2024, the most in the WNBA, on her way to the all-time assists record for a single season.
On Friday, the WNBA sent a reminder to fans of the passing records Clark broke during her first year in the league.
“The Indiana Fever floor general,” the WNBA wrote on X. “Caitlin Clark made wonders happen with the ball in her hands. Clark notched the single-season assists record with 321 total dimes, as well set the all-time single-game assist record against the Dallas Wings with 19.”
With the help of fellow WNBA All-Stars Kelsey Mitchell and Aliyah Boston, Clark led the Fever to their first postseason appearance since 2016, which happened to be the last season Stephanie White coached in Indiana.
Now, after the Fever elected to dismiss Christie Sides, White has officially made her return to Indianapolis to lead a young squad that has a very promising future.
As fans await Clark’s decision to join the new 3-on-3 Unrivaled league, which begins in January, the star is still making moves in the offseason. On Wednesday, Clark will be trying out her luck in golf as she is set to participate in the Annika LPGA pro-am competition.
One thing is for sure, the Fever guard will bring her competitive spirit to the golf course that she showed on the basketball court.
