Man Utd fans lose it with one player after conceding last minute winner against Brighton

Fans are not happy with one player who may be responsible for the goal.

Manchester United fans are blaming one player for allowing Brighton to score a last minute winner on Saturday.

In the 95th minute of their match against Brighton and Hove Albion, United conceded a goal to forward Joao Pedro, which would ultimately cost them the game.

Just one week prior, the Red Devils escaped drawing their opening game of the 2024/25 Premier League season, as a heroic goal from new signing Joshua Zirkzee secured the three points for United, as they beat Fulham 1-0.

But now, fans have reacted to the disappointing performance against Brighton, and have called out one player who they believe is responsible for losing them the match.

United fans have pointed out that Portuguese defender Diogo Dalot appeared to be out of position during the buildup to the goal, allowing Pedro to be completely free and unmarked in the box.

Reacting to a clip of the goal on X, one fan wrote: “This is what happens when you keep overhyping average players like Dalot.

“Forgetting his position speaks volumes about his concentration levels. Not the first time it has happened and definitely not the last.”

Another agreed, writing: “Dalot at the backpost AGAIN … But i have an agenda, whatever man cba.”

And another pointed out: “I understand there’s 3 people left unmarked on the back post but Dalot lets the guy creep in 5 yards in the 18 yard box and doesn’t attempt to block anything.”

Dalot made 50 appearances for United last season, scoring three goals in all competitions and keeping seven clean sheets in the Premier League.

The result marks the second consecutive victory for Brighton, who after the match sit on top of the Premier League having dispatched Everton 3-0 in their first game of the season.

In their next game United will play one of their most-anticipated games of the season as they welcome Arne Slot to Old Trafford since he took over as Liverpool manager in June.

Meanwhile, Brighton will play Crawley Town in the midweek second round of the EFL Cup, before travelling to the Emirates to face Arsenal at the weekend.
