These ladies represent the backbone of the WWE Women’s Division.
WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker offered some high praise to the Women’s Division during a recent episode of his ‘Six Feet Under’ podcast.
Taker mentioned the fact that despite several top stars being on the shelf due to injuries, there were still a number of ladies who have kept the division thriving. He suggested that Triple H should consider adding a couple of new titles to his new era.
“The division is deep. I would like to see a Women’s Intercontinental Champion, and possibly, because there’s two brands, a Women’s U.S. Champion.”
The title scene in the Women’s Division is certainly strong at the moment and maybe The Deadman is on to something. Both RAW and Smackdown will likely look a bit different at the conclusion of the Draft, but the talent pool is so deep that there will be plenty of top-tier talent for both brands to share.
If WWE does decide to introduce a new title for the ladies, it would be interesting to see which direction they take. Here is our list of 5 WWE Superstars who should be the inaugural Women’s Intercontinental Champion.
#5. 2-time WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Nia Jax
Nia Jax is one of the most dominant stars of this generation.
The hottest storyline in recent memory was undoubtedly The Bloodline saga. Roman Reigns and The Rock represented their family heritage tremendously en route to capping off one of the greatest angles in professional wrestling history. The Tribal Chief and his squad are descendants of the iconic Anoa’i/Maivia dynasty.
With that said, there’s another member of this Hall of Fame Family that doesn’t get mentioned as often – Nia Jax.
Dubbed “The Irresistible Force”, Nia Jax is one of the most intimidating Superstars in the Women’s Division. Jax signed with the company in 2014 and was elevated to the main roster in 2016. Her WWE run culminated with her own WrestleMania Moment in 2018 when Nia won the RAW Women’s Title. She was released in 2021 but returned at the 2023 Royal Rumble.
Nia currently doesn’t appear to have a particular creative direction, but she is more than capable of being one of the top Superstars in the Women’s Division.
#4. Former WWE Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley
Rhea Ripley will return and she will want her spotlight back!
The WWE Universe was introduced to Rhea Ripley during the inaugural Mae Young Classic in 2017. Rhea signed with the company after beginning her wrestling career in her native country Australia. While she didn’t fare too well in the tournament, Ripley made up for it moving forward.
For the past year, Rhea Ripley has raised the bar for women’s wrestling during her legendary World Title reign. Rhea has held several different championships throughout her WWE career, but her latest run has set her apart from the rest of the roster.
Sadly, she was recently forced to vacate her Women’s World Title, due to an injury she suffered during the episode of RAW after ‘Mania. This ended her near-400-day title reign, but fans can rest assured that Dominik’s beloved ‘Mami’ will come back soon, and when she does, the rest of the division will be put on notice.
#3. 2-time Women’s Tag Team Champion Naomi
Naomi is back and the world is feeling the GLOW!
When Naomi signed with WWE in 2009, no one could have predicted the unorthodox route she would take en route to becoming one of the best performers of this generation. Needless to say, Naomi has come a long way since her days as a “Funkadactyl” cheerleader for Brodus Clay.
After being away from the company for the better part of a year, Naomi surprised the WWE Universe when she emerged as the second entrant in this year’s Women’s Royal Rumble Match.
The former SmackDown Women’s Champion went on to have a legendary WrestleMania moment when she teamed with Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair as the trio defeated Damage CTRL. Naomi has proved her ability to carry the banner for the Women’s Division, so Triple H could very well put her back in the spotlight in the near future.
#2. Former AEW TBS Champion Jade Cargill
Jade Cargill is looking for the perfect opportunity to explode in the Women’s Division!
Triple H and company hit the jackpot when it was revealed that WWE had signed Jade Cargill. She came to the company after spending the previous few years with AEW.
During her time in the Jacksonville-based promotion, Jade became the first-ever AEW TBS Champion. After holding the title for over 500 days, Cargill is still recognized as the longest-reigning TBS Champion in company history.
Since signing with WWE, there’s been a lot of hype surrounding Jade Cargill’s potential as a main-event caliber Superstar. Jade was part of a historic moment at WrestleMania 40 when she partnered with Bianca Belair and Naomi. Now with a new era charging forward, Jade is expected by many to be one of the pillars of the Women’s Division.
#1. 14-time Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair
The Queen will soon return and she will be looking for her crown!
For the past year-plus, the focal point of professional wrestling has been The Bloodline, and rightfully so. After all, Roman Reigns and his Anoa’i Army have elevated the image of the industry, putting more eyes on the product than it has had in quite some time. With that said, there’s another legendary wrestling family name that could soon become a topic of conversation, depending on the imminent return of 14-time Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair.
Although the WWE Women’s Division is incredibly deep, there is still a void anytime Charlotte Flair is not in the picture.
Charlotte has been out of action since December when she suffered an injury that forced her to undergo surgery to repair a torn ACL, MCL, and Meniscus. While this type of injury typically requires a lengthy rehab time, Charlotte revealed on CNBC that she was ahead of schedule.
After missing WrestleMania, Charlotte will surely be looking to get back on top and let the rest of the Women’s Division know who the real ‘Queen’ is.
“I’m ahead of schedule and all I can think about is returning to the ring…all I can think about is getting back and winning that number 15.”Women’s midcard titles would certainly provide the division with a much deserved boost and give the talented stars in the company even more prestigious gold to fight for.
