Snoop Dogg Once Gave Kobe Bryant A 1967 Pontiac Parisienne Convertible

With such a unique, and sleek-looking vehicle, we can be positive that Kobe absolutely loved this personalized, and classic retirement gift.

Everyone knows Snoop Dogg, and everyone definitely knows Kobe Bryant. Snoop, the infamous rapper, songwriter, entrepreneur, and actor. Kobe, an American professional basketball player who is arguably the best to play the game.

Bryant was widely regarded as one of the greatest players of all time, winning many accolades like five NBA championships, 18-time All-Star selection, 15-time member of the All-NBA team, 12-time member of the All-Defensive Team.

Kobe, sadly, lost his life on January 26, 2020, when his helicopter crashed into the side of a mountain Calabasas, only about 30 miles northwest of downtown Los Angeles. Kobe, his daughter, and seven other occupants were killed in the crash.

Everyone has mourned the loss of Kobe and his daughter. Let’s do our part to remember the great things he did throughout his life, instead of dissecting the accident that took his life.

Snoop Dogg and Bryant were fast friends, as we can easily see by the huge and expensive gift he gave to Bryant on the day of his retirement. Don’t worry, Kobe wasn’t one of the people that were gifted cars and rejected them. Snoop Dogg customized this car to perfection – and it wasn’t his only one, either.

Let’s dive a little deeper into the car that Snoop Dogg gifted Bryant for his retirement…

Snoop’s Gift to Kobe

Long Beach native, Snoop Dogg, gave the five-time NBA champion Kobe Bryant the keys to a custom Pontiac Parisienne convertible. Although Bryant didn’t really need any gifts, considering he was the 10th-highest-paid athlete in the world, Snoop showed his appreciation for his friend with this grand gesture.

Even though Kobe could have probably found this car himself, there are slim chances he would be able to find one tricked out and customized like this. This Pontiac was painted yellow, with a purple soft top, screaming the epitome of the Lakers.

Customized Present for Kobe

How did Snoop find one like this you ask? Well, he customized it himself. He paid for an intricate mural on top of the hood, including various legends who previously played on the Lakers, including Kobe himself.

Of course, Kobe loved the gesture. It might be a bit over the top in terms of style, but Kobe tweeted after receiving the gift, stating it was an ‘unbelievable retirement gift from my man Snoop.’

Pontiac Parisienne Specs

The Pontiac Parisienne is a full-size rear-wheel-drive vehicle sold by Pontiac on the B platform from 1983-1986 in the United States. Based on the photos of Snoop’s gift, we know the model was a 1967 Parisienne, in the third-generation of the Pontiac’s creation.

The Parisienne first entered the production lineup as just a sub-series with the Laurentian line for the 1958 model year, but became a separate model just one year later. Parisiennes were distinctive from other Pontiacs by their luxury upholstery, interior and trunk lights, bright interior trim moldings, accent chrome pieces, and availability of two or four-door hardtops.

The 1967 introduced new styling, like new grills, collapsible steering column, and dual braking system, making this car safer and more stylish when compared to the previous years. The 1967 year kept the right-hand-drive assembly, the B-body platform, and featured various engine options: 4.6-liter, 5.4-liter, 5.7-liter, 6.5-liter, 7.0-liter, or 7.4-liter V8 engines. The transmission was between a 2-speed or 3-speed automatic, or a 3-speed manual or 4-speed manual.

With such a classic, interesting, and sleek-looking vehicle, we can be positive that Kobe absolutely loved this thoughtful, personalized, and classic retirement gift from Snoop.
