Jada Pinkett Smith has made headlines in recent days with comments about her life and her marriage to Will Smith, which have prompted some criticism on social media

50 Cent has taken aim at Jada Pinkett Smith as she continues to discuss her life ahead of her memoir’s release, including talking about her marriage to Will Smith.

Jada, 52, recently shared that she’s been separated from her husband Will, 55, since 2016. She has discussed their marriage whilst promoting her upcoming memoir Worthy, including having said that they no longer live together.

She’s made revelations about the marriage in the past too, like saying she once had an “entanglement” with August Alsina, now 31. Jada suggested she’d been separated from Will at the time and she spoke about it alongside him on an episode of her Red Table Talk show, released back in 2020.

Jada’s decision to discuss her marriage and other aspects of her life ahead of her memoir’s release has prompted some criticism. This has included prompting reaction from rapper 50 Cent, 48 – who’s real name is Curtis Jackson III.

He took to platforms like X recently to share an apparent headline about Jada allegedly discussing having sold drugs when she was younger. He wrote alongside it: “Alright enough is an enough FREE WILL SMITH! WTF is going to on.”

The rapper – who has never been married himself – also shared a clip from a recent episode of the Stephen A. Smith Show. He wrote alongside the video on the platform: “They say never say never but I ain’t never getting caught up in no s*** like this. Don’t even say marriage to me F*** that!”

The video featured two clips from the show and the first came following remarks about Jada having publicly discussed her relationship with August years ago. Stephen subsequently shared his thoughts with his viewers.

He commented: “Let’s talk about the role of a wife. At least from the perspective of … just sparing him. I’m not getting into the right and wrongs, it’s none of my business […] But I know that it is uncomfortable and grotesquely unfair to emasculate your husband publicly. Publicly. He’s Will Smith. How much smaller do you wanna make him?”

The second clip showed Stephen urging Jada against continuing to share details about her marriage. He said: “Come on, Jada. This is wrong. You can’t do this. You can’t treat that man like that. It’s none of our business. You screwing somebody else – it’s your business. Your husband ain’t getting it done for you – that’s your business.”

Stephen further commented: “He with somebody, you with somebody else – that’s your business. You ain’t got to be like that, especially while you still married to him. […] Everytime I see Jada Pinkett Smith talk about Will Smith I cringe.”

50 Cent took to the comments section of his first post with the hashtag #freewillsmith. His comment has received more than 4,000 likes on the platform and prompted others to share the same hashtag. The hashtag has similarly appeared in numerous posts on social media over the last week.

There was also comments about Jada in the comments of his second post, which featured the video, on the platform. One person wrote: “[She] has no respect for her man.” Another said: “Jada acts like she’s on a revenge tour.”
