North West may not be the youngest artist to ever chart on the Billboard Hot 100, but the accomplishment marks a major career milestone nevertheless.

The 10-year-old daughter of Ye (formerly Kanye West) and Kim Kardashian is featured on “Talking,” one of the songs included on Ye’s new album Vultures with Ty Dolla $ign. The album was released on Feb. 9.

Vultures hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200 as “Talking” hit No. 30 on the Billboard Hot 100 for the week of Feb. 24.

Kardashian celebrated her daughter’s career milestone in an Instagram Story earlier this week.

“My baby!!!!” the reality TV star wrote alongside handclap and heart emojis, according to a screenshot shared by The Daily Mail. Kardashian’s post also included an image of a tweet about the song’s chart debut and North’s role as one of the youngest artists on a song that has charted.

The title of the youngest charting artist belongs to Blue Ivy Carter, the oldest daughter of Beyoncé and Jay-Z. Now 12, Blue Ivy was only a few days old when she was recorded for her father’s 2012 song “Glory,” according to Billboard.

In addition to delivering North’s first Hot 100 song, “Talking” also appears to have given the young rapper her artist name, with North referring to herself early in the song as “Miss Westie.” North also appears in the song’s official music video, which was released earlier this month. As of Feb. 22, the video had amassed nearly 15 million views on YouTube since it was posted on Feb. 7.

North is the oldest of Kardashian’s four children with the “Gold Digger” rapper. They also share Saint, 8, Chicago, 6, and Psalm, 4. The couple has been divorced since November 2022.

Despite the album’s success, its release was quickly met with controversy as artists like Ozzy Osbourne accused Ye of using song samples without permission. The allegedly unauthorized samples continued to be a point of concern nearly two weeks after the album’s release, according to American Songwriter.
