Patrick Mahomes Sr. was taken into custody for said offense during the weekend and, with this being his third strike, he could be facing a lengthy prison term.

According to TMZ, the elder Mahomes admitted he “had a few beers while watching a game at a local bar” before he got into his vehicle after he was pulled by lawmen who spotted him driving slower than the rest of the traffic while sporting expired tags.

The arresting officer noted that the former MLB player failed a sobriety test once he was taken out of his vehicle.

“I believed Patrick was impaired to a perceptible degree while operating a motor vehicle in a public place,” he wrote in documents obtained by the aforementioned publication.

The QB was asked about the situation while speaking to the media on Super Bowl opening night.
