Tom Cruise’s Uncomfortable Experience On The Ellen DeGeneres Show

Ellen DeGeneres

Ellen DeGeneres has been in controversy for a long time now for various reasons. From alleged bad working conditions to making her guests uncomfortable with her inappropriate questions, there have been a lot of negative reactions from the fans and viewers about the now off-air show and celebrity host.

In a recently resurfaced interview of Tom Cruise, when he first came as a guest on the show, fans pointed out how DeGenere’s questions were not ‘appropriate’. After bluntly asking him whether he was wearing boxers or briefs during the interview, DeGeneres asked another awkward question (via YouTube), but this time regarding the hit singer, Britney Spears.

“Britney or Christina?”

The talk show host inquired referring to Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera. But Cruise being Cruise found a way to dodge the question and simply replied,

“I’ve never thought about it.”

Tom Cruise’s simple answer without making it awkward was praised by fans for always being genuine and down-to-earth.

Tom Cruise Also Almost Starred Opposite Britney Spears In $117M Movie

Britney Spears

Tom Cruise has starred in multiple movies but missed out on starring in the famous $117 Ryan Gosling movie, The Notebook. While Gosling and Rachel McAdams were perfect, a possible casting was Cruise starring opposite Britney Spears.

But that was back in 1996 when the adaptation rights to the book had just been acquired. And back in the day, Cruise would certainly have been a good choice. As for the female lead, Spears was by far the leading name, that was until the McAdams was discovered.

While The Notebook is a fan favorite now, critics and fans think things might have been different for the movie had it starred the Top Gun star and the Toxic hitmaker as the lead. However, there is no way to find that out now, and fans are just grateful that the movie starred Gosling and McAdams and not Cruise and Spears.

The Notebook can be streamed in HBO Max.
