The actress stunned everyone when she walked the red carpet in a ravishing crimson Christian Dior gown and a surprising shoe choice. More than Lawrence herself or her pretty dress, it was her shoes that grabbed the maximum attention. Jennifer Lawrence is an evergreen diva of Hollywood and the talented American actress has added many feathers to her hat. She has billion-dollar movies to her name, graced the Forbes celebrity list, and was also Time‘s 100 most influential people in the world list in 2013.

Lawrence started her acting career with guest roles in television series in 2006 and her film debut was in 2008 with the drama film, Garden Party. Her breakthrough role was in Debra Granik’s independent drama Winter’s Bone in 2010 which was based on a Daniel Woodrell novel by the same name. Last month Jennifer Lawrence hit the headlines for flipping over the Cannes dress code and ditching her heels on the red carpet. What was earlier perceived by all as a silent protest turned out to be a last-moment fit problem as the actress clarified in an interview that she was not at all aware of the controversy with people wearing flats at the celebrated film festival.

In her interview with Entertainment Tonight, Lawrence said, “I would really like to straighten this out,” “I was not making a political statement, not that I wouldn’t.” She then explained, “My shoes were a size too big,” And I wore heels going up, but then I forgot to take a picture with my production team, Excellent Cadaver. So, we had to take an Excellent Cadaver picture, and I knew I would eat s—t if I went down in the shoes that were a size too big.”

The Silver Linings Playbook actress said that she had no clue that earlier other stars had switched to flats or walked down the red barefoot to protest against the rigid Cannes dress code. The diva paired her gorgeous custom creation from Dior Haute Couture with a pair of black flip-flops. She admitted that her heels were too big and she had the fear of falling in them which is why she avoided the heels.

She shared during the interview, “So, we had to take an Excellent Cadaver picture, and I knew I would eat s— if I went down in the shoes that were a size too big. I put on the flip-flops, and then everybody’s like, ‘What a statement! Wow!’” “I’m all for making a statement,” she said. “I just would want it to be on purpose.” The actress clarified that she had no intention of making any statement.
