Helen Flanagan has thanked one of her friends for sending her a supportive gift as she admitted ‘needing a bit of faith’. The actress has been getting back into her usual routine after enjoying a New Year break with her children.

Helen, 33, whisked her three children – Matilda, seven, Delilah, five, and Charlie, two – off on holiday with her pal, Beth, after spending Christmas without them. The mum-of-three admitted it felt ‘weird’ being without her kids during the festivities for the first time as they stayed with their dad, footballer Scott Sinclair, and his mum while Helen spent the day with her parents up north.

She then planned the trip in a bid to enjoy her own quality time with her children and was also joined by her friend, Beth, as the ditched the UK for Bali. The former Coronation Street star shared some updates to social media from their break and opened up about it not being all plain sailing when she got back home and even joked she was “never travelling again”.

And so a gift from a pal may have been the boost she needed. Taking to her Instagram Story, Helen shared a video of herself as she travelled in the back of a car. Still sporting slightly blushed skin after catching the sun on her holiday, the 33-year-old was drawing attention to her jewellery

She was wearing a gold necklace round her neck which featured the word ‘Faith’. Helen then explained as she typed alongside the post: “My lovely friend @graceprosser13 gave me this necklace on Christmas Eve and I love it. Find it a comfort.” She then added: “Faith [butterfly emoji]. Comforting, if like me, you need a bit of faith that everything’s going to be ok.”

Meanwhile, the New Year is set to bring some new challenges for Helen after she revealed some career news back in November. The former soap star is famed for having appeared in Corrie but hasn’t been seen in the ITV soap as Rosie Webster for a number of years.

Helen was seen back on ITV but this time in the first-ever spin-off of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here. Set in South Africa, the pre-recorded series, which was aired last April, saw memorable campmates from over two decades worth of series battle it out to become the first I’m A Celeb ‘legend’.

But the mum-of-three is set to make her stage debut as Miss Scarlett in the world premiere UK tour of Cluedo 2. She will star alongside leading West End actor and TV favourite Jason Durr, who stars as Colonel Mustard, and the national tour will include a week-long run on home turf for Helen at The Lowry theatre in Salford in April.
