Ryan Gosling’s ‘I’m Just Ken’ Wins in the Best Original Song category at the Critics Choice Award and his reaction after the announcement goes viral.

Greta Gerwig’s Barbie is everywhere. The blockbuster movie entered the 29th Critics Choice Awards with 18 nominations and winning six of them, including I am just Ken, secured a win in the Best Original Song category. The song beat out two other songs from the hit movie – Dua Lipa’s Dance the Night and Billie Eilish’s What Was I Made For.

But what took focus was the reaction from Ryan Gosling after winning the award. Just when it was announced, his humble reaction caught everyone’s attention. It seemed that the actor was not expecting, and what could be more enthralling than to win something surprising?

This year’s Critics Choice Awards was held at Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California, where again Barbie and Oppenheimer took center stage. The Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling starrer Barbie has won six awards. And the best song award went to I’m Just Ken from Barbie.

It was Ryan Gosling and his honest reaction after the announcement that has gone viral in X, formerly known as Twitter. Presenters Bella Ramsey and Anthony Ramos announced that this Ryan Gosling starrer song had beat Dua Lipa and Billie Eilish in the run, and the camera focus went to him to catch his reaction.

The actor was seemingly surprised by it and could not believe what had just happened. Gosling, who was sitting beside director Greta Gerwig, looked a bit suspicious as he thought it was a prank. But no, it was a reality.

“Ryan Gosling, this is as much your award as ours,” Mark Ronson, co-writer of the song said, as Gosling beamed from the crowd. “You made the world, or the audience, fall in love with this song with your matchless performance, so thank you.”
