LeBron James’ Team USA got another dominating win against Team Brazil, which propelled their semifinal journey. Like in other games in the Paris Olympics, James also started for the USA against Brazil.

However, during Team USA’s dominant 122-87 victory over Brazil in the Olympic quarterfinals, LeBron had to leave the game early after taking an elbow to the head. Following the game, head coach Steve Kerr updated James’ condition. According to Ben Golliver of The Washington Post, Kerr revealed that James received four stitches for the injury.

Golliver reported, USA Basketball coach Steve Kerr said LeBron James got four stitches after taking an inadvertent blow to the head during the blowout win over Brazil.

“I’m ok. I just got hit with an inadvertent elbow,” he said.

Speculation and tension among the fans regarding James’ injury have already become ripe. Despite the injury, James reassured fans about his condition after the game.

Team USA Prepares for Semifinals After Dominant Win with LeBron James

Before his injury, LeBron James delivered an outstanding performance, helping Team USA build a substantial 63-36 lead by halftime. Over 17 minutes on the court, James, one of the team’s all-time top scorers, added 12 points, nine assists, three rebounds, and three steals.

Alongside James, Devin Booker and Anthony Edwards made significant contributions with 18 and 17 Serbia, respectively. Their collective effort led to a decisive victory over Brazil, securing Team USA’s place in the semifinals.

In their upcoming match, Team USA will face Nikola Jokic’s Team Serbia on Aug. 8 at 3 p.m. ET in the men’s basketball semifinals. After previously defeating Serbia twice in the Olympics, James and his team are confident in their ability to achieve a third win and advance to the finals.

Kerr didn’t provide a clear answer on James’ status for the next game, but based on his injury update, it’s anticipated that he will be ready for the semifinal.
