Endrick didn't hesitate when naming his five favourite players including two Real Madrid teammates

Endrick has made some surprising picks for his favourite players of all time, including two of his Real Madrid teammates in his top five.

Endrick, 18, is settling in to his new life in Spain after being officially presented to Real Madrid’s supporters at a huge unveiling event at the Bernabeu last month.

Madrid agreed to sign Endrick from Brazilian club Palmeiras back in 2022, in a transfer worth up to €60m (£50m) including add-ons.

But he was unable to immediately join the reigning European and Spanish champions due to being aged only 16 at the time of the agreement.

Instead, he remained in Brazil with Palmeiras to continue his development, with the striker playing his final match for the club last season.

He has now officially joined Madrid ahead of the 2024/25 campaign but faces a tough task of breaking into Carlo Ancelotti’s star-studded side, recently bolstered by the signing of Kylian Mbappe on a free transfer from PSG.

Endrick could make his competitive debut for Madrid when they face Atalanta in the UEFA Super Cup on Wednesday evening.

Ahead of the match, the Brazilian was asked to name his top five favourite footballers of all time.

And he produced some surprising picks, naming players from several different eras including one legend of English football.

“Cristiano [Ronaldo], Bobby [Charlton], [Ferenc] Puskas, Vinicius [Jr] and Jude Bellingham,” said Endrick.

It is perhaps surprising the youngster chose not to name several Brazilian icons, leaving out the likes of Pele, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho and Neymar.

He has previously spoken of his admiration for Ronaldo and last year revealed the influence the Portuguese superstar has had on his young career.

Speaking to Daily Mail, Endrick said: “My dream since I was little, has always been to play for Real Madrid.

“Cristiano Ronaldo is one of my biggest idols.

“So it is a great pride to know that I will wear the same shirt he wore.”

After facing last season’s Europa League winners Atalanta next week, Real Madrid kick off their La Liga title defence with a trip to Mallorca on August 18.
