Mark Wahlberg appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Wednesday night to promote his new feel-good dog movie Arthur the King.

During his interview, Wahlberg revealed the reason he wasn’t included in Ben Affleck and Matt Damon‘s recent Dunkin Super Bowl ad.

In case you missed it, the ad stars Affleck, Damon, and fellow Massachusetts superstar Tom Brady as the “DunKings,” as they don some Wahlberg-inspired sweatsuits and croon a song similar to those that helped the Mile 22 actor begin his career.

Wahlberg is probably the most prominent Boston figure not included in the campaign, and now he’s explained why.

“I was wondering the same thing, you know. I have no idea,” Wahlberg responded when Colbert asked him why he was missing from the advert.

“I’m from the wrong side of the tracks, I think,” the star surmised, adding that he still finds the commercials “very, very funny.”

Even though he wasn’t included in the campaign this time around, Wahlberg is hopeful he might still get a call. “I’m trying to work my way into their good graces,” he explained.

“Hopefully they’ll give me the call one of these days. I’m waiting patiently.”
