Seville has become the capital of music. On the night of Thursday, November 16.

The Andalusian capital will host the Latin Grammy Awards, which for the first time in history are held outside the United States.

Thus, it will become one of the most iconic editions of a party that in 23 years has added endless anecdotes.

Although music is the central axis of the celebration, the Latin Grammys bring together many other themes, linked to social chronicle or fashion that, precisely, have given rise to a series of moments that today return to the present day.

While each gala has had its own special color, there is one that, in terms of anecdotes, has stood out above any other. It was the 2016 edition.

In which Marc Anthony (55) became the great honoree by receiving the ‘Person of the Year’ award.

To present the award, the chosen one was his ex-wife, Jennifer Lopez (54), who dedicated some emotional words to him.

“Marc is a living legend who bares his heart and soul on his musical journey. Composer, producer and singer, he is a magical and pure artist, who gives us classics that will stay with us forever.”

Jlo told the Las Vegas crowd. The famed Bronx singer also took the opportunity to remember that the salsa singer had been her “mentor and soulmate,” as well as calling him a great father.

Heartfelt words that led the audience, in unison, to start asking for the former couple to kiss.

That’s how it happened and, despite the fact that they had been separated for five years and that Marc Anthony was in a relationship with Shannon de Lima (34), Jlo grabbed her ex-husband and laughingly gave him a kiss.

But beyond this romantic moment, the 2016 gala is remembered for the lapse of singer Andrés de DVicio, who ‘resurrected’ Juan Gabriel for a few moments.

The vocalist starred in a tierra trágame when he announced the winner of ‘Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album’, an award that was won posthumously by the Mexican.

“And the Latin Grammy goes to Juan Gabriel’s Los Dúo 2. Congratulations!” exclaimed the DVicio frontman who, after a wave of applause and a flurry of music, realized that the singer, who had died three months earlier.

Evidently he was not at the gala. “Well, the Academy will take care of giving him this award and congratulations to him, a very strong applause,” continued the artist when he did not remember that the ‘El Divo de Juárez’ had died.
