The actress proudly called Zahara an ‘extraordinary African girl’ in an interview with climate activist Vanessa Nakate.

According to Harpers Bazaar , Angelina Jolie discussed the topic of Black Lives Matter and African life with Austrian climate activist Vanessa Nakate for Time 100 magazine.

“My daughter is from Ethiopia and I have learned a lot from her. Zahara is not only my daughter, my family, she is also an extraordinary African girl,” the star said.

The Maleficent actress added: “She has a connection to her country and continent through her skin color. And I can only stand behind to support Zahara.”

Previously, she shared that she was afraid that her daughter would become a woman of color in America: “There is always racism and discrimination here. I can protect my daughter, but I cannot protect all people of color in America. I’m even afraid that she will be discriminated against.”

In June, Angelina donated $200,000 to the NAACP Legal Defense Fund – to support the fight against racism.
