Chicago Sky star Kamilla Cardoso has taken her talents overseas.

After a noteworthy rookie campaign with Chicago that saw her put up averages of 9.8 points, 7.9 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.4 blocks in 27.4 minutes per game, the Sky’s No. 3 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft has headed to the Women’s Chinese Basketball Association (WCBA) for the offseason.

Cardoso signed with the Shanghai Baoshan Dahua Swordfish for the upcoming WCBA season. Unfortunately for the 23-year-old, she’s had a rough start to her life overseas after traveling across the globe to join her new team for the next couple of months.

According to a video she posted on TikTok on Monday, everything went smooth during her connecting flights from the U.S. However, she encountered a bit of trouble as soon as she landed in Hong Kong.

Apart from the “super long” line in immigration, the former South Carolina star also revealed that locals were quite intrigued by her presence.

“I was hungry so I decided to walk around,” she said. “Everybody was staring hard as hell but I finally found a 7-11. But everything there was really different so I went back to my hotel room.”

Cardoso then revealed that her dinner for her first night in Hong Kong ended up being a bag of Doritos and a couple of bottles of water.

That’s not exactly the best welcome dinner, nor is it the healthiest. Then again, Cardoso, a native of Montes Claros in Brazil, does know a thing or two about adjusting to life in a foreign land.

It should only be a matter of time before she gets settled in.
