WATCH: ‘Emotional’ Patrick Mahomes left with tears in his eyes after humiliating loss to the Raiders in Kansas City

The Kansas City Chiefs lost their Christmas Day game against their divisional rivals, the Las Vegas Raiders, on Monday. It was a tough loss for the Chiefs, who have now slipped to 9-6 and are out of the race for the AFC’s top seed. Their QB, Patrick Mahomes, had a rough outing as his multiple turnovers proved costly for his team.

Mahomes entered the game on the back of a good performance against the New England Patriots last week. In the Chiefs’ last matchup against the Raiders, Mahomes was on fire, throwing for 298 yards and 2 touchdowns while completing 27 of his 34 pass attempts.

However, yesterday was a bit different, as he and the Chiefs came out flat and were punched early by the Las Vegas-based team. Mahomes and company never recovered from that.

The Chiefs eventually lost the game 20-14. In a video that has surfaced on Twitter, Mahomes was visibly very emotional after the loss, as his eyes were watery during the final stages of the game.

The Chiefs will end their regular season with games against the Cincinnati Bengals and the Los Angeles Chargers. They will hope to win those games and enter the postseason on a winning note. Mahomes will also look to bounce back against the Bengals next Sunday.

Patrick Mahomes is optimistic despite an ugly loss to the Raiders on Monday

The Kansas City Chiefs lost their sixth game of the season and have now slipped to 9-6 through 16 weeks. Their latest loss came on Monday against their divisional rivals, the Las Vegas Raiders.

It was a 14-20 loss that was a result of the team’s own mistakes. Their QB, Patrick Mahomes, was responsible for the Raiders’ two touchdowns as he turned the ball over twice, resulting in Raiders scores. Mahomes, however, is still upbeat despite the loss.

Patrick Mahomes

If we clean it up, we'll be able to score points. It's just (that) we've got to clean it up... You have to do it and if we don't, we'll be going home.
If we clean it up, we can beat anybody. I truly believe that, but we got to prove that we can do it.

Mahomes said, according to ESPN‘s Adam Schefter.

Mahomes leads the league in interceptions this season with 14. He and the Chiefs will now welcome the Cincinnati Bengals to Arrowhead Stadium for their next game. The Bengals are shorthanded as they are without their star QB, Joe Burrow. The Chiefs will be favored to win that game.
