Stephen A. Smith believes QB Prescott stepped up for his team when they needed him.
Looks like the ESPN analyst Stephen A. Smith has a whole change of heart for quarterback Dak Prescott, as he again took his side after the divisional loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. Smith, who is known as the notorious Dallas Cowboys hater, has now joined the club ‘Prescott.’
Last Sunday night, the Cowboys fell behind the Eagles after a 23-28 loss against them. However, the loss wasn’t of a big margin, as what the Cowboys believed was just a matter of inches. And so does the host of First Take.
While having a discussion about the Eagles defeating the Cowboys, Smith said,
When we look at Dak Prescott and the performance he had yesterday..obviously stepping out of bounds before he gets it…You got these big boys going at you, you set up there, you rush and you…step out of bounds. But that's what happened, so you gotta look at it from that perspective.
Smith appreciated Prescott for his dedication last game and decided not to put the blame on him, saying,
I don't blame him. I thought he was playing a great game.
He believes when the team needed him, Prescott “stepped up and showed what he was capable of.“

There is no doubt that quarterback Prescott and the Cowboys played well enough to win the game against the Eagles, but it seems like the odds were against them. But as the praise came from someone who considered Prescott a shame and mocked him repeatedly, it does seem surprising. Nonetheless, the star quarterback finally impressed the analyst with his forays on the field.
How Dak Prescott earned praise, despite Cowboys’ loss
Even though the Cowboys ended up with a defeat on Sunday, quarterback Prescott is getting praised. And Smith isn’t the only one to do so. As counted among the most notable players in Cowboys, Prescott gets highly criticized when he doesn’t live up to expectations.

However, this time things are different. As it has been stated, Prescott actually played well last night, so everyone knows it wasn’t his lacking that the Cowboys couldn’t claim the victory.
Acknowledging his efforts, former coach Jason Garrett stated that quarterback Prescott carried the entire team on his shoulders throughout the game. In addition to him, Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons also appreciated the QB by referring to him as a “freaking warrior.” Just like that, head coach Mike McCarthy also appreciated him, but as a team.
