The Kansas City Chiefs haven’t been at their best this season at all.

And it seemed like things wouldn’t get any easier against the New England Patriots’ defense.

However, just when he was in the eye of the storm for his recent criticism of officials and whatnot, Patrick Mahomes proved just why he’s still considered to be the best quarterback in the game.

Mahomes was elite against the blitz, going 8 for 8 for 153 yards, one touchdown, no interceptions, and a perfect 158.3 passer rating, as pointed out by PFF KC Chiefs on Twitter.

It’s not a secret that the Chiefs have had several issues with subpar WR play this season, and this game wasn’t the exception, with Kadarius Toney’s hands leading to yet another interception.

Nonetheless, Mahomes stayed calm and poised in the pocket and found ways to lead his team to success.

Now, against all odds, Andy Reid’s team still has an opportunity to clinch the No. 1 seed in the AFC.

Of course, they’ll need to win out and need the Miami Dolphins and Baltimore Ravens to lose at least two out of three.

Then again, the Chiefs have winnable games vs. the Las Vegas Raiders, Cincinnati Bengals, and Los Angeles Chargers, all while the Baltimore Ravens still need to face off vs. the San Francisco 49ers, Dolphins, and Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Dolphins, on the other hand, need to meet the Dallas Cowboys, Ravens, and Buffalo Bills.

It won’t be easy, but if someone can pull it off, that’s definitely Mahomes.
