On the evening of September 27, an armed robbery took place at a sports shoe store right next to singer Taylor Swift’s building in Tribeca, New York.

According to the New York Post , three robbers fired four shots before escaping from the store right next to Taylor Swift’s house. “Suddenly we heard gunshots, we were extremely scared. I saw people running wildly from the scene and many people jumping into cars,” said a waitress at a nearby restaurant.

Police are currently blocking this neighborhood and collecting bullet casings. Luckily no one was injured in the shooting. It is unclear whether Taylor Swift was at home at the time of the robbery.

According to local residents, this is the second time within a month that this store has been attacked by robbers. New York’s richest neighborhood, Tribeca, was the target of recent robberies after the riots in May and Covid-19.

Taylor Swift has a house complex worth up to 50 million USD in Tribeca. In 2014, she bought two penthouses next to each other in the same building for nearly 20 million USD, then renovated it into a large apartment with a total area of 771 m2, including 10 bedrooms and 10 bathrooms. In 2017, the female singer spent 18 million USD to buy a 3-story street-front house right next to the penthouse building. A year later, she continued to invest nearly 10 million USD to buy a luxury apartment in the same building as the penthouse.
