On top of 2 Royal Rumble victories and multiple WrestleMania main event matches, Orton has held the World Championship 14 times. The Viper, along with Triple H, are tied for the second-highest number of reigns with the top title in company history. The top spot is also a tie, with John Cena and Ric Flair each having 16 reigns to their name.
With Flair no longer a part of the company, Triple H retired from in-ring competition and Cena being on a part-time basis, Orton looks to have the best chance of breaking the record in the near future. Despite being in the business for over 20 years, Orton still wants to be at the top of the division.
The 14-time World Champion was asked if he would want to break the record of being given the opportunity on Impaulsive. Orton stated that he would want to win that 17th championship as his legacy is the number one goal of his professional career.
Of course, I want to do everything I can, man. You know, longevity is always the number one goal for me and being able to go home play with my kids and not be in pain, right? That’d be the ultimate goal.
But you know, as many accomplishments as I can accomplish in WWE, the more the better. I’ve already done so much so far. It’s kind of nice being in a position where I can watch other guys’ matches and maybe critique and help and answer questions.
Randy Orton Advises The Rising Stars
Although his longevity is important, Orton also wants to give back to the industry when he can. Also during the interview, Orton revealed how he has given advice to the stars of tomorrow, in particular, Logan Paul:
For the first time in my career, I find myself being a little bit, I don’t even want to say the word, I guess a mentor to some people.
I can pull a guy aside, kind of when I DM’d you [and said], Hey man, careful. Don’t go out here and end up in a wheelchair. You got a lot of sh*t going on. You have always got to be thinking of that next one.

Randy Orton would love to add a very prestigious accolade to his WWE record.
