Micah Parsons believes quarterbacks and offensive players take advantage of rules which already favor that side of the ball

there has been much conjecture surrounding Tom Brady’s opinion that the NFL has lost its ‘excellence’ of eras previous and has been replaced by ‘a lot of mediocrity’.

Dallas Cowboys pass rusher Micah Parsons, who plays with a physicality of generations past, concurs with Brady’s take to the fullest.

“I just don’t think it’s the same love and protection toward defensive players, at that,” Parsons said on his podcast, The Edge. “I 100% agree with Tom, I think there’s players and there’s teams that take advantage of these rules.”

Parsons cited current quarterbacks, and the league’s subsequent ruling, as a major factor.

“You look at today’s NFL with a lot of QBs flopping on hits. You’re looking at guys who are kind of flailing, they hit them hard, they lead with their shoulder and it looks like it’s a helmet-to-helmet,” he explained.

Parsons echoed Brady’s sentiment that defense is marginalized as the league looks to protect the offensive playmakers from concussions and, in their minds, unnecessary big hits.
