Dak Prescott is not losing any hope after the defeat against the Eagles.

“It sucks!” ‘Gutted’ Dak Prescott believes the team is doing things the ‘right way’ despite tough loss to the Eagles

The Dallas Cowboys lost against the Philadelphia Eagles in an electrifying game on Sunday. The margin was 28-23 in favor of the Eagles, but the Cowboys fought till the last minute of the game. It was only after bringing CeeDee Lamb down at the five yards; the Eagles secured their victory.

Dak Prescott, in the post-match presentation, spoke about the match and discussed what went wrong for Dallas in this nail-biting encounter. Prescott is not someone who loses hope very early. The post-match presentation also reflected that. He acknowledged that his team performed well and was inches away from winning the match.

It sucks at the moment, but there’s a lot of good we can take. We’re doing things the right way. It’s just an inch here, an inch there.
We gotta find a way to gain that.

Well, Dak had every right to say this. His team was active throughout the game and almost won it. After an early touchdown by the Eagles, the Cowboys made a staunch comeback by scoring two touchdowns in two quarters.

At the end of the first half, the Cowboys had a lead of 17-14. The third quarter went crucial for the Eagles as they scored a much-needed touchdown to take the score to 17-21. Later, they strengthened their lead to 17-28.

Dallas did not lose hope. During the fourth quarter, the Cowboys launched several attacks after scoring a touchdown to move to 28-23. At the very last moment, Dak connected with CeeDee Lamb at five yards, and Lamb was about to finish when the Eagles’ defense sacked him.

Luck was not with Dak Prescott against the Eagles

Prescott had a clean game against the Eagles as he completed 29 of his 44 passes and registered three touchdowns. He was not intercepted once. On multiple occasions, Prescott was in the position to lead a comeback for his team. He put in his efforts but failed to seal it.

The first came when the QB connected with TE Luke Schoonmaker, which was initially thought to be a touchdown. But it was ruled out after Schoonmaker was spotted leaving his left knee on the one-yard-line. Prescott later sprinted toward the end line when an Eagles player restricted him ahead of the one-yard line. These two moves would have changed the dynamics of the game.

However, the player would regret the most about the dying moments. The Cowboys signal-caller had to throw 86 yards with 46 seconds left. With the help of a penalty, they reached the six-yard line. However, the QB failed to make a play as he was sacked first, and later he connected with Lamb. But that was also read by the Eagles defense.

Despite the defeat, the Cowboys had a lot of positives to take from this game. After a sluggish start to his 2023-24 campaign, Prescott is finally showing his true colors. The player is improving in every match and putting a strong performance in favor of his team.

Eagles are his favorite opponent, and he never fails to impress against them. The Sunday night performance was no exception. He covered a strong 374 yards of passing with touchdowns and zero interceptions. His passing completion rate was 65.5%.

If Dallas has to do good, then Dak needs to hold his form. He has been in great form for the past few games. Against the Rams, he had a four-touchdown game and also covered more than 301 yards. He was impressive against the Chargers as well. Overall, Prescott is finally providing his best for Dallas slowly.
