Randy Orton and Roman Reigns are two of the biggest names in WWE, both with impressive careers and dedicated fanbases. They’ve been involved in numerous memorable moments, from their early days as part of The Shield to their epic clashes as solo superstars. The two legends will clash once again at Royal Rumble as sworn enemies, but is there any beef between the two in real life?

Though the two superstars are considered absolute professionals, reports suggest that there was beef brewing between the two in the past. The moment in reference happened in 2013 during a tag team match in a house show. It was reported that the former Shield member botched a spot during their match because of which The Viper was furious with him.
However, Reigns could be excused for his mistake as he was still a rookie while Orton was already a legend in the making with 11 years in the WWE. Orton is also infamous for his “You’re Stupid” incident with Kofi Kingston for a similar mistake. Thus, indicating his history of aggressive behavior to his teammates that may or may not be kayfabe.

Another incident happened in 2014 when it was reported that Orton was unhappy with Roman Reigns’ baby face push after Cena. However, Orton wasn’t the only one who hated The Tribal Chief’s baby face push during that period. But WWE was looking for a new baby face while Orton was a prominent heel throughout his career.
But the two superstars have maintained professional behavior on both fronts. They feuded against each other during The Shield Era and at SummerSlam 2014, and they will face each other again at Royal Rumble.
Roman Reigns to defend his title in a fatal 4-way
On the Day 1 episode of Raw, general manager Adam Pearce announced that Roman Reigns would defend his Undisputed title against Orton, AJ Styles, and LA Knight in a fatal 4-way match. Adam Pearce was forced to decide the match for the #1 contender and was disqualified due to interference by The Tribal Chief.
All four superstars are hungry for a shot at The Tribal Chief for different reasons. While AJ Styles has a beef against The Bloodline, LA Knight has a point to prove to the world, and Orton has several reasons for taking on Reigns. Hopefully, this could lead to a feud between the two that is limited to being kayfabe.
What do you think about the beef between the two superstars?
