Samuel L. Jackson has a legacy in the world of cinema that cannot be matched. With his excellent acting chops, he has worked in both indie movies and mega franchises. He has a commanding screen presence and can take away the spotlight from anyone as soon as he appears on the screen. And one of his major signatures is using cuss words in every movie, except in Marvel ones obviously.
Samuel L Jackson
Despite the fans always associating the term “motherf–ker” with Samuel L. Jackson, it turns out there is another actor who holds the record of cussing the most onscreen. Jonah Hill, the actor who played Donnie Azoff in Martin Scorsese’s The Wolf of Wall Street, holds this record. Just as surprising as it is for the fans, even the Nick Fury actor couldn’t believe it.
Samuel L. Jackson was taken aback learning Jonah Hill holds this record
The man who made the word “motherf–ker” cool was none other than Samuel L. Jackson himself. Any cinephile can swear that they have heard the f-word from the mouth of the Marvel star onscreen more often than any other star. But in a survey, the results pointed at another star winning the title – Jonah Hill has used cuss words the most onscreen. It was also revealed that he is not even in second place, as the place is held by his Django Unchained co-star Leonardo DiCaprio. As for Jackson, he comes in third place.

Upon hearing the news, the actor, who was in an interview on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, stated,
“That’s some bullsh-t! No, no, no way! Jonah Hill and Leo? Really? I don’t believe that. Somebody has miscounted.”
In the same Buzz Bingo survey, it was stated that the movie with the most cuss words ever is The Wolf of Wall Street, so that could be where the two stars beat his record.
Marvel movies are known for keeping their themes kid-friendly, so they avoid using cuss words. Even Samuel L. Jackson, who has been a part of the franchise since the very beginning of it, had to keep himself from saying his favorite term. But it was someone else who got the chance to drop the first-ever F-bomb of the MCU.
It was none other than Chris Pratt, who plays Star Lord in the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise. The actor even took a moment to refer to Jackson when talking about the same in an interview.
Samuel L. Jackson and Chris Pratt
Pratt took great pride in the fact that he got to beat Samuel L. Jackson in saying the word for the first time in MCU. But, if the fans are to analyze, the character of Nick Fury isn’t someone who can drop a casual F-bomb. But for Star Lord saying “open the f–king door” is seen as normal. Chris Pratt talked about this in multiple interviews, in one he even went on to say “take that Samuel L. Jackson”, taking a dig at the actor.
Despite missing out on first place, Jackson has said the cuss words 301 times, according to the Buzz Bingo survey. So it is still a great record, considering the censorship in cinema.
