Angelina Jolie and The Weeknd have sparked plenty of dating rumours lately, after being spotted on what looked like a number of romantic dates. And now, Angelina has addressed her relationship with the singer in response to a pretty awkward interview question.

Sitting down alongside her Eternals co-star Salma Hayek, Angelina was asked by E! Daily Pop host Justin Sylvester whether her kids were more excited about her Eternals role or the fact that she is “friends” with The Weeknd.

Swerving any mention of The Weeknd himself, Angelina responded, “They’re very excited about this film, if that’s what you’re asking,” before adding again, “They’re very excited about this film”.

While Angelina didn’t give much away, we do see her smiling slightly uncomfortably and looking over at Salma – and the whole thing is pretty awkward.

Angelina and The Weeknd first sparked dating rumours back in June, after they were both spotted leaving celeb-fave restaurant Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica. Since then, they’ve been seen leaving the same private gig, as well as being pictured on a second occasion at Giorgio Baldi in September.

At the time, an eye witness told E! News that they were sat in a “private” section of the venue and enjoyed each other’s company for almost three hours. After their meal, they were seen leaving the restaurant together in The Weeknd’s car.

Meanwhile, a source told Us Weekly in September, “Both Angie and Abel are telling people that they are just friends, but those who know them think something romantic is going on.”

“She’s definitely warming toward Abel. He’s been pouring on the charm and going out of his way to impress her.”
