Before Travis Kelce was running yards at Super Bowl 2024, he was making Taylor Swift references!

The game opened with a promotional video featuring players from the two teams — the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers —  taking the field at Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium. And as the Chiefs tight end, 34, made an appearance, he gave an adorable nod to one of his pop-superstar girlfriend’s hit songs.

In the clip, which fans recorded and shared on social media, Kelce teased the upcoming game by saying, “Are you ready for it?” — seemingly making a reference to Swift’s track, ” … Ready for It?” off her 2017 album Reputation.

He also played into the fun nod by flashing a cheeky wink.

The Chiefs themselves also referred to the fan-favorite track on social media. Ahead of the game, the NFL team’s official account on X (formerly Twitter) posted, “Let the games begin. ARE YOU READY FOR IT?!”

In the replies, one fan responded, “Once again i say give the social media team a raise.”

Swifties were also thrilled by Kelce’s playful appearance in the opening video, taking to X to share how much they loved the moment.

One fan wrote, “I LOVE THAT HE OWNS IT AND ACKNOWLEDGES HER!!! She deserves this type of love!!!!!!!!!”

Many others suspected that Kelce’s reference to a Reputation song specifically was an Easter egg, teasing her forthcoming re-recording of the album, which she’s yet to officially announce the release date of.

Fans have speculated that the Grammy winner has been quietly teasing Reputation (Taylor’s Version) in the past couple of months, by making serpentine references in her style and talking about the forthcoming project in her TIME Person of the Year cover story. (She described the album to the outlet as, “a goth-punk moment of female rage at being gaslit by an entire social structure.”)

Rather than announcing Reputation (Taylor’s Version) at the recent Grammy Awards, the singer-songwriter revealed that she’s set to release her 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department, at the ceremony when she took home the win for best pop vocal album.

The Midnights artist jetted back to the states from Tokyo — where she performed four back-to-back concerts as part of her history-making Eras tour — just in time to watch her boyfriend and the Chiefs take on the 49ers in the Super Bowl.

Swift was spotted arriving to the sporting event with her mom Andrea Swift, plus Blake Lively, Ice Spice and Ashley Avignone, among other friends. She showed her support for the Kansas City team by repping a red bomber jacket from WEAR by Erin Andrews over an all-black ensemble.
