Selena Gomez’s mother said that having to witness every painful moment in her daughter’s life would be “too painful” for her.

In an interview with Jay Shetty, the mother of Selena Gomez — former actress Mandy Teefey shared why she decided not to watch a documentary about her daughter’s life. Accordingly, she said that Selena’s moments of collapse from lupus, bipolar disorder and fame were haunting for her.

“We went through that time together and found healing. And even if the documentary was about something that Selena was going through that I didn’t know about, as a mother, that still affects me,” the former Disney star’s mother shared, “It hurts me and will make me think too much. I will wish that I could go back to that time and protect her more”.

Also in the interview, Mandy Teefey seemed quite proud to receive praise for her daughter’s documentary.

The documentary about the 1992 singer called My Mind & Me was directed by Alek Keshishian. He is also a famous director who directed Madonna’s music documentary in 1991 called Truth or Dare.
