Singer Rihanna owns a net worth of 1.4 billion USD, making her the youngest self-made female billionaire in the US.

On July 4, Forbes magazine published a list of billionaires under 40 years old. With 1.4 billion USD, Rihanna ranked 21st. Her wealth mainly comes from her singing career and fashion and beauty product business. The Barbados-born singer currently owns three companies Fenty Beauty, Fenty Skin and Savage X Fenty. The next young billionaire on the Forbes list is Kim Kardashian, 41, who has a net worth of $1.8 billion.

In March, Bloomberg reported that Rihanna’s Savage X Fenty lingerie brand was working with financial advisors to conduct an IPO (initial public offering of securities). Experts estimate the deal could be worth about 3 billion USD. Rihanna currently has a 30% stake. She also owns half of Fenty Beauty, a company with revenue of $550 million in 2020. French group LVMH owns the remaining half of the shares.

Having an impressive fortune, Rihanna says she doesn’t care too much about titles and achievements. In an interview with The New York Times magazine in 2019, the singer said he had never planned to make such a large fortune. “Reaching financial milestones doesn’t make me stop working,” Rihanna said.

The singer who won nine Grammy awards also said he wanted to spend his fortune to solve outstanding problems in society. “My money is not for me. I always think about helping others. This world can make you believe that the wrong things take priority, and it makes you really miss the core of life, the meaning of being alive,” she said.

In 2012, Rihanna started the charity Clara Lionel Foundation (CLF), which aims to “support and fund groundbreaking education and climate resilience initiatives”. After just the first year of establishment, the singer has raised $60 million for women and children affected by HIV/AIDS through sales of her lipstick line in collaboration with MAC Cosmetics. In January, CLF combined with Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey’s #SmartSmall initiative to donate a total of $15 million to 18 different climate justice groups.

Rihanna was born in 1988 and belongs to the group of singers with the highest sales in the world, with more than 250 million records sold. She has won nine Grammy Awards, 13 American Music Awards, 12 Billboard Music Awards and holds six Guinness records.
